Diana Barns Denton, TX Death-Obituary: In Loving Memory of Diana Kathryn Barns

Diana Kathryn Barns, age 35, went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2026, following a sudden cardiac event after a bike ride. Her unexpected passing has left her family, friends, and community deeply heartbroken, yet profoundly grateful for the life she lived and the love she so freely gave.

Born on February 15, 1991, in Denton, Texas, Diana grew up with a gentle spirit and a creative heart. She graduated from Denton Calvary Academy in 2009 and later attended Oklahoma Baptist University, where she played tennis and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design in 2013. During her time at OBU, she discovered a passion for ceramics, a pursuit that would become a defining part of her life and work.

In 2017, Diana apprenticed in Devon, England, refining her craft before returning to Denton to establish Diana Barns Pottery. Through her work at The Dime Store and within the local arts community, she created beautiful, functional pieces that will continue to be treasured by many. Her artistry reflected her character—intentional, thoughtful, and deeply human.

Diana was known for her rare ability to make others feel seen, valued, and understood. She offered calm in moments of uncertainty, wisdom in times of confusion, and quiet strength when others needed it most. Her kindness was not occasional, but consistent and deeply rooted in how she loved people—fully, patiently, and without distraction.

She worshiped at The Village Church Denton and found joy in family, friends, camping, travel, tennis, photography, board games, and time with her beloved dogs Rosie and Piper.

Diana is survived by her parents, Steve and Kathryn Barns; her siblings Resa (Tyler) Curbo, Will (Crystal) Barns, and Greg Barns; and her nieces and nephews Ava, Jaylen, Mitchell, Cooper, Oliver, Levi, and Lucas, along with extended family who cherished her deeply.

Services will be held in Denton, Texas, with visitation on May 15, 2026, funeral service on May 16, 2026 at The Village Church, followed by burial at Old Alton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Habitat 4 Paws in her honor.

Diana’s life was a quiet gift of love, creativity, and presence, and her memory will continue to shape all who were blessed to know her.
