It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Armando Gonzalez, who tragically lost his life in a devastating accident in South Central El Paso. The El Paso Police Department has identified Armando, age 60, as the individual fatally struck by two vehicles on the night of Monday, at approximately 8:15 p.m., on the 6100 block of Alameda Avenue.
According to authorities, Armando was crossing the roadway when he unexpectedly entered the path of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. He was struck and thrown to the ground, and despite efforts to avoid him, a second vehicle, a 2007 Toyota Tacoma, was unable to prevent hitting him. Investigators from the El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Unit have determined that the pedestrian crossing into the roadway was a contributing factor in this tragic incident.
This loss marks a somber milestone in the community, as it is the 20th traffic-related death in El Paso this year, compared to 22 at this point in 2025. Such statistics serve as a stark reminder of the importance of pedestrian safety and vigilance on our roads.
