With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we share the passing of our dear friend, family member, and valued driver, David Hurlburt.
David passed away following complications from a stroke he suffered while visiting his daughter in Montana. His loss has left an enormous void within the Brenchley Transport family and among all those fortunate enough to know him. We are beyond devastated by this heartbreaking news.
David was more than a dedicated driver — he was a genuinely kind and generous soul whose warmth touched countless lives. He had a remarkable way of making people feel valued and appreciated, no matter how brief the encounter. Known for his thoughtful nature, David never missed an opportunity to share a smile, a story, or a simple act of kindness.
If he discovered someone had never tasted a Whoopie pie or shoofly pie, he would make sure to bring one along on his next delivery. He carried Hot Wheels cars with him wherever he went, often handing them out to children or quietly leaving them behind for someone to discover. These small but meaningful gestures reflected the incredible generosity and compassion that defined who he was.
David’s work ethic, loyalty, and friendship made him deeply respected throughout our community. His laughter, kindness, and giving spirit will be remembered by everyone whose path he crossed. Though words cannot fully express the sorrow we feel, we are grateful for the memories, the joy, and the friendship he shared so freely.
David Hurlburt will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever carried in our hearts.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with his daughter, family, friends, and all who loved him during this difficult time.
