It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Knefley, who, alongside her husband Mike Knefley Sr., helped purchase and build Ski Sawmill 25 years ago. Her life and contributions leave behind a lasting legacy of dedication, compassion, and quiet strength that shaped both the business and the community it serves.
For many years, Joyce played an essential behind-the-scenes role in the growth and success of Ski Sawmill. Though she often worked outside the spotlight, her influence was felt in countless ways—from daily operations to the welcoming spirit that defined the organization. As her health declined in recent years, she remained deeply connected to the people she loved and the community she helped build.
Joyce will be remembered most for her unwavering care for others. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, employees, and the extended Ski Sawmill family. Known for her warmth and sincerity, she often took time to personally encourage those facing challenges, guided by her strong faith and desire to uplift others.
Her presence was a steady source of kindness and encouragement, and her ability to connect with people left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is survived by her family, including her son Mike Knefley II, who has continued the family’s leadership at Ski Sawmill.
The family invites friends and community members to celebrate Joyce’s life at Coudersport Alliance Church on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 PM, followed by a service at 4:00 PM and a community dinner at 5:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stronghold Ministry at www.mystronghold.org, which provides spiritual support for cancer patients.
We ask that you keep the Knefley family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
